Sleeping little makes us more forgetful. Something that we already suspected, but that they have finally managed to demonstrate through scientific research.

In other words, those 'blackouts' that you sometimes have may have something to do with your quality and quantity of sleep. So if you forget where you left the keys, or what menu the school prepares for your child next Monday, you know what happens ... and what the solution is.

Definitely, sleep directly affects our mood. Little sleep makes us wake up in a bad mood. It also affects our physical form. Getting too little sleep makes us feel tired. And of course, we already suspected: affects the brain. Sleeping little makes us forget things more easily. The novelty is that scientists have finally been able to prove it.

The study was carried out in Great Britain (University of Leeds) with adults. They were asked five memory exercises:

1. Remember what they did recently.

2. Remind a person of something important in a short time.

3. Remember where they put an object.

4. Do something that they left pending.

5. Write a text to measure your concentration.

The results: those who sleep less than 5 hours a day experience greater memory loss. Specifically, they are 25% more forgetful than those who sleep more than 5 hours a day. In fact, poor sleep deprivation was shown to affect all the memory fields analyzed. But the hardest hit was the first: that of rremember or check what they did recently. The second most affected memory field was forgetting something they had to do.

Poor and poor sleep affects people's health and mood. In the long run, it can be related to dementia. And many experts dare to assure that lack of sleep produces unhappiness. In case you didn't know yet, lack of sleep has all these negative effects (in children too):

- Fatigue. Sleeping less than 7 hours a day directly affects the state of health of the person. Not getting enough rest means that the body does not have time to replenish the energy expended during the day.

- Lack of concentration. Experts recommend sleeping at least 7 to 8 hours a day for adults to have optimal levels of concentration. In the case of children, and depending on their age, increase to 10-12 hours of sleep.

- Memory loss. It is finally proven that little sleep affects memory. If you want your child to do well in school, you must ensure that his sleep is restful.

- Depression. In the long run, lack of sleep and insomnia can lead to depression.

- Sudden changes in moods. Sleeping too little makes us more irritable. It is difficult to control the moods in the face of a state of fatigue and chronic fatigue.
