Chicharrón is a very popular food in Mexico. However, it has a high fat content. But what if we substitute soy for meat? In this way, meat proteins are replaced by vegetable proteins and it is a much healthier recipe for children.

We offer you the recipe for Northern Chicharrón with soy so that you can learn how to make it as a delicious second dish for the whole family.

  • 200 gr of textured soy
  • 1/2 kilo of tomato chopped
  • 1 onion
  • 1/4 green tomato chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 100 gr of chili
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • Salt, oregano and pepper to taste

1. Soak the soybeans. Then drain it well.

2. Heat the oil in the pan and add the garlic, onion, chili, tomato and green tomato, finely chopped.

3. Stir well and add salt to taste.

4. Let it brown for five minutes. Then add the soybeans.

5. Stir everything well for 10 more minutes. Then add the tablespoon of vinegar, pepper and oregano.

6. Stir for 5 more minutes. Remove from heat and .. voila!
